UNION COUNTY, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — A southwest Iowa man was found dead in a Union County lake Wednesday afternoon.

41-year-old Ryan Woosley was last known to be at Three Mile Lake to night fish on June 16 and hadn't been heard from since.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) began their search at 3 a.m. and found a car in the north boat ramp and an overturned boat in the lake, but did not find Woosley.

Local law enforcement joined the search and used a thermal drone to continue searching until daybreak. The Southwest Iowa Dive Team was then called in to help and used sonar technology to locate and recover the body.

The DNR says severe weather that moved through the area on June 16 may have played a role in the incident.
