On Tuesday morning, I was flipping channels and stopped to see what the left’s own dying CNN was squawking about (I do that regularly to hear the “other side”). There it was, despite their wanting so badly for it to be different, an “unconfirmed” report that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had made a statement regretting his pitiful performance the previous Friday when meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
He said he regretted the way the meeting unfolded and hoped to return and sign the rare earth minerals agreement and restart the chance for ending the fighting and bloodletting in their no-win war brought to them courtesy of Russian aggression, helped along by the foreign policy idiocy of the Obama/Biden presidency and furthered by the Biden/Harris presidency. Trump’s “Art of the Deal” sounded like it was playing out to me, but I knew this was only half of the equation. If true, the ball will be in Russia’s Putin’s court to secure a ceasefire. I figured I’d have to wait until later that night when I watched the president’s address to the joint session of Congress to hear it from him, if he brought it up, to believe it. I’ll “circle back” to this as Biden’s press secretary used to say.
That night, I stayed up past my bedtime, put a bag of popcorn in the “nuker” and sat down and tuned to Newsmax. What I watched was amazing. For you readers who skipped it, you missed a historic, eye-opening, optimistic and uplifting speech by the president. He commanded the room. It also might be remembered as the most singularly disgusting, disrespectful display ever by the Democrats. That’s saying a lot, because I don’t hide that my opinion of them is pretty damn low. I never actually expected to see the reasons for my disdain put on such an open display like was done by this mob. As I’ve compared them to before, they’re truly a real life “the Borg” of Star Trek fame, and everything I saw only validated my view. I only pray there might be a few of their indoctrinated Kool-Aid swillers left with a couple of functioning neurons, a few ounces of remaining common sense and some small, tattered remnant of American patriotism remaining who finally saw that party for the loser it truly is.
That will require a willingness — and some vestige of a moral core — to take a good hard look inside themselves and reject the ideological lunacy of that party. Maybe they’ll open their eyes and ears, and by the mid-terms decide to vote for their freedom and possibly their very lives. Because what I saw confirmed the American Democrats haven’t any place in control of anything, anywhere… and they especially need to be kept away from our kids. And if they ever get any power again, my opinion is the good-old U.S. of A. will be S.O.L.
First, these leftist idiots alienated me out the gate. Those who showed up and didn’t boycott this important session of Congress either remained seated as the president entered the chamber or, for the few who did stand, not one applauded as is customary. For a bunch who demanded “respect for the office” when their guy spoke, they all came with paddles or signs with words like “liar” and other anti-Trump accusations.
Here’s what I saw and heard unfold by those Democrats who attended, while others boycotted the event, including Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Virginia) on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and a guy who you’d think would have enough interest in hearing how Elon Musk and the DOGE Boys have the goods on the waste and fraud in government.
But he sat out because he says he’s “in solidarity” with federal government employees who’ve been terminated as part of Trump’s push to downsize the government and cut waste. That’s amazing. I thought a representative’s job was to be in solidarity with his constituency and taxpayers paying the freight. Over the years, I’ve sadly concluded Congress had become a circus, but if it’s collectively Barnum and Bailey, the progressive Democrats are the freak show. Thirty Democrat women came wearing pink or fuchsia because, as Rep. Judy Chu (D-California) wrote on X, “Pink is a color of protest and power. We’re sending a message: Trump’s policies are devastating women.“
I got a great laugh out of that piece of hypocrisy. After all, it was just a day after every Democrat senator voted against protecting women in sports from men competing in their athletic events. And, up in the mezzanine, sat Riley Gaines, one of Trump’s ardent supporters. She didn’t need pink because Trump had already empowered her and all women athletes through an executive order. Wow.
But pink dresses, white boards and paddles were benign compared with the display put on by Rep. Al Green of Texas. That guy stood up and waved his walking cane around, called the president a liar and ranted about Medicaid, Medicare and their old stand-by bugaboo — Social Security cuts. Green’s been ardently against Trump since he was first elected his last term. He was the dude who put forward the first articles of impeachment, and has done it again already this go around.
He looked like a damn fool and a caricature of some old pimp haranguing “his girls.” He’s not the first representative to heckle a president. There were others from both parties. But he made history as the first one to get himself hauled off by the House sergeant at arms. A censure followed. Good. Too bad he got tossed too early to hear the president enumerate the billions of Social Security dollars being paid out to dead people. Stopping that will go a long way toward making that system solvent. Wouldn’t have ever come out if not for Trump and DOGE. And only the braindead thinks Medicare and Medicaid aren’t being abused and being run into the ground with fraud and inflated or unnecessary charges.
So here’s where I circle back and end. Because the CNN report was true. Trump read the letter from Zelenskyy aloud. He wants the deal. But here sat the Democrat warhawks wearing ties the colors of the Ukraine flag, dutifully putting Trump over the barrel as a Putin “puppet.” Oh man, how they seem to want an endless war. Or maybe they’d prefer a shortcut and lob a couple of nuclear missiles. I dunno. I’m no fan of Russia. As a Navy sailor, I faced them at sea and in the air when they called themselves Soviets. Maybe that nation’s name’s changed, but not its character, bellicosity or the threat it poses.
I think Ukraine’s fought heroically, and although they’re no bastion of democracy, they’re still the victim. But, based solely on available manpower, the Russians will run out of bodies long after the last Ukrainian warrior is dead. But moreover, it’s not our war, and not Trump’s war, but he’s sure as hell had it handed off on him. We’ve spent $350 billion – a lot of it unaccounted for — and we’ve depleted our stockpiles of weapons and ammo to help a country we’ve no treaty or alliance to help. But I know if we don’t intercede, broker a deal the war will continue, and I don’t trust NATO to not screw this right into World War III.
The war must end because I don’t want our kids bleeding and dying for them, and I think most of you moms and dads don’t, either. As it stands right now, unless a ceasefire is brokered, we’ll be dragged into it because they’ll fall if we don’t. We’ll be broke, the Ukrainians enslaved and Russia more powerful and dangerous. We’ve got our hands full, folks. There’s Chinese aggression, narco- and Islamic terror, Iran and its proxies and rogue North Korea. That’s just a taste. Trump says he wants peace in Ukraine for good reason. We can’t mess around and Trump isn’t. I think he’ll make a deal that works
